  • The Museum parking area and nearby public parking areas are available (relatively few)
  • Do not self drive to museums and heritage sites as they are located in crowded old city areas and parking is a scarcity there; you are rather advised to use public transport.
  • Wear easy to slip in and out footwear as many places would need you to remove your footwear.

As residents in the city of Dubai, we sometimes take the city’s attractions for granted and we always think there is time to go and see what the city has to offer. Then there are the attractions that keep you coming back for more as seeing it once is never enough. Dubai Fountains is the one and only attraction, which will leave you awed without fail.

The Dubai Fountain is part of Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping, leisure and entertainment destination. In fact, you can cover a trip to the mall and see the fountain at the same time, not forgetting snapping a selfie with the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building as the background. Once you get to the mall, head toward the Lower Ground Waterfront promenade you can settle down for a quick coffee, have shisha or enjoy a complete meal while enjoying the Dubai Fountain shows.

Fun facts to know about the magnificent Dubai Fountain are that it features water that jets as high as 450 ft or 140 metres, the equivalent to a 45-storey building. It is set on the 24-acre Burj Lake, the fountain is 900 ft (275 metres) long, has five circles of varying sizes and two central arcs. Couple this together with over 6,600 WET Superlights – the most advanced incandescent fountain lights available today – and 25 colour projectors and it results in creating a visual spectrum of over 1,000 abstract attractions. Furthermore, the beam of light shining upward from the fountain can be seen from over 20 miles away, and is visible from space, making it the brightest spot in the Middle East, and quite possibly in the entire world.

The Dubai Fountain performs daily, and each performance draws a big crowd so make sure you get there about five to ten minutes earlier to set up your camera or secure a standing spot in front. The show is a repertoire of approximately 35 songs, including Sama Dubai; Baba Yetu, an award-winning song in Swahili; classical songs from the Arab world; and the signature piece of world-renowned Andrea Bocelli, Con te Partiro (Time to Say Goodbye) and so much more. You can see the shows every afternoon at 1:00pm and 1:30pm, however on Fridays this timing is slightly altered to 1:30pm and 2:00pm. The daily evening shows are on every 30 minutes from 6:00pm to 11:00pm.The show is free for its spectators on the promenade, however if you want to get closer you can hop on a traditional abra (boat ride) and enjoy the show. The abra operates between 5:45pm and 11:15pm and at 65AED per person tickets can be bought at the ticket counter or by logging onto https://tickets.atthetop.ae.

The Dubai Fountain has got an impressive name of being the World’s largest dancing fountain, as it has 1.5 million lumens of projected light, sprays to heights of up to 450 feet and 22,000 gallons of airborne water. But don’t just take our word for it, go down to Dubai Mall and see the Fountain yourself and you will find out why it is always on the top of lists of things to do and see in Dubai.
