  • The Museum parking area and nearby public parking areas are available (relatively few)
  • Do not self drive to museums and heritage sites as they are located in crowded old city areas and parking is a scarcity there; you are rather advised to use public transport.
  • Wear easy to slip in and out footwear as many places would need you to remove your footwear.

The weather outside might be scorching hot but we have the ideal way for you to cool down and have a chilled out summer. We are in Dubai after all, the city that provides endless options for fun, entertainment and a city that makes the impossible possible.

So we suggest getting off the sofa, speed dialling some friends and family and making your way to the world’s biggest mall. Once you are at the Dubai Mall, come over to the Dubai Ice Rink and prepare for a day on the ice.

Located on the ground floor of the mall next to The Souk, the Olympic-size Dubai Ice Rink has become a social hotspot, as it offers residents and visitors a range of activities including the recently introduced Dubai Ice Rink Skating Academy (DIRSA) and the latest technology to create, and maintain the ice consistency and quality to the highest standards.

Make this summer the summer that you learn how to ice skate or if you know how to skate already, then brush up on your skills. Don’t worry about not having skates, we have over 2000 pairs of skates in various sizes which can be rented out.

You can choose a public sessions and skate for 105 minutes if it is your first time. For just 60AED per person (adult or 30 AED for kids this is the bets introduction to skating. If you just want to watch the fun then spectators pay just 15AED.

If you feel like dancing, then the disco session are for you. Show off your coolest moves as the resident DJ plays hip-hop, electronic and modern pop tunes. The light display adds to the vibes so bring your friends along and for just 80AED per person you get to dance on ice!

For the advanced skater, the freestyle sessions would be the best suited as it is designed to bring out the skill and discipline of figure skating. A freestyle session is a practice session for the more advanced skater; to perfect jumps, spins and footwork. These sessions must be pre-arranged with the coach and is geared towards the development of Figure skating within the UAE and to provide opportunities and access to skaters looking to prepare for competitions and routines. Ask the reception for more details or book a session for just 55AED on Wednesdays (4pm- 5pm), or on Fridays and Saturdays (9am- 10am).

There are so many fun-filled activities it will be difficult to choose when to go, so we won’t be surprised if you become a regular face. The Dubai snowfall is another year-round event where soft flakes fall around you (in Dubai!). But please do check the schedule of when you can experience the snowfall.

The Dubai Ice Rink is also equipped with classes which you can take to learn from professionals on how to skate well or to fine-tune your style. For more details please contact +971 4 448 5111 or email academy@dubaiicerink.com or visit www.dubaiicerink.com to download a full brochure.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you do it on ice this summer.
