One of the last legendary ocean liners Queen Elizabeth 2 often referred as QE2, after touring the world 25 times with 1400 voyages covering six million nautical miles and carrying 2.5 million passengers now stands permanently docked at Port Rashid Marina in one the most eclectic cities in the world – Dubai. Since 18 April 2018 QE2 has been operating as a marvelous floating hotel. It has everything a tourist would expect and a lot more. Things to do inside QE2-

Heritage tours are available on a daily basis at 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm and 7pm. Starting at the QE2 Heritage Exhibition, this guided tour takes passengers through the ship where they learn about the history of the vessel, original rooms and artifacts and get a glimpse of the accommodation. They cost AED 170 per person which includes a voucher of AED 100 to spend across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.

QE2 has become one of the iconic destinations for dining, nightlife and events - get the taste of authentic British cuisine from trendy bars and restaurants listed below which were once visited by the likes of the Queen herself and many world millionaires of the 1960’s – 1970’s.

The Golden Lion – arguably one of the oldest pub in Dubai. The Golden Lion is an authentic British traditional pub offering variety of draught beers. Enjoy your evening whilst playing darts, pool or watching a game on their projector.

The Chart Room – Get a real feel of being the captain as this bar has original route maps drawn by the former captains of QE2. Meet your friends for some snack with wine and craft beer and drift into the life of a sailor.

Q café – located next to the lobby, this café is the perfect spot for grabbing a small bite while enjoying a cup of tea from their world class selection of teas and reading a book or checking your mails. The ambiance of this place is refreshing and brightly lit by natural light.

The Grand Lounge – The name says it all; imagine 1960s and a cabaret theme place where you can enjoy musicals and performances with people dancing discos. You cannot miss this if you want to experience the true grandeur. 

The Pavilion - this one is on the deck side so one can only imagine how tranquil yet exciting it would be to enjoy fresh oven baked pizza with a fantastic skyline view of Dubai.

Things to do around QE2

Queen Elizabeth 2 is in close proximity to some of Dubai’s most popular attractions including the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Just a short drive by car along the coast are some of the city’s latest hotspots including La Mer, a beachfront dining destination and Boxpark, an urban shopping and restaurant complex.

As a historical monument herself, The Queen Elizabeth 2 shares a neighborhood with some of Dubai’s other cultural gems including the Gold Souk, Dubai Creek through the historical drive of Shinghagha tunnel on one side and at the other side the Etihad Museum.
