 Travex Tips
  • The Museum parking area and nearby public parking areas are available (relatively few)
  • Do not self drive to museums and heritage sites as they are located in crowded old city areas and parking is a scarcity there; you are rather advised to use public transport.
  • Wear easy to slip in and out footwear as many places would need you to remove your footwear.

It’s cold. It’s really, really cold as you stand on top of the icy slope. You know you are ready; you feel your heart racing when you stare down on it.  Chilly air blows past you, invigorating your adrenaline. You close your eyes and feel the energy build up inside you. You take one last deep-breath as you push yourself down the slope using your Ski Poles. Your body gets pumped as you slide down at top speed, feeling ecstatic. You overtake the first skier, then the second; at that moment, you’re unstoppable. You glide down effortlessly (those ski lessons really did pay off) and finally reach the bottom. Your family greets you as total happiness sweeps you off your feet. “I love Dubai”, you say out loud because you finally get to live your lifelong dream: to ski. And you didn’t even have to go anywhere else; Ski Dubai was your savior!

Ski Dubai is truly the definition of the ‘we bring the world to us’ attitude that Dubai carries. More than a decade ago, no one would have probably believed you if you said that one day you’ll be skiing in Dubai; and not in a mere ice rink, or sand dunes but skiing down a 400-meter long slope. In a country like Dubai, where you are surrounded by the desert sands, Ski Dubai was a very big deal when it was first opened in 2005. Ten years later, it still continues to be as important. It has become one of the major tourist attractions for everyone when they visit The Mall of the Emirates.

With a size of 22,500 square meters, this massive Indoor Ski Resort isn’t only limited to skiing. If you aren’t a fan of skiing but love the cold and the feeling of being in it, then you can visit the Snow Park located at the base of the Ski Resort. This Snow Park is perfect for non-skiers and children alike as you get to visit a Snow Cavern, climb the Tobogganing Hills and enjoy the Twin Track Bobsled Runs. And that is not all! You can even get yourself a Giant Ball Ride (it’s exactly what you’re expecting) or take in the spectacular view of the entire park whilst riding a chairlift. Finally, when you’re done with every other activity possible, you can even watch the March of the Penguins… or take your child to watch; you win either way.

So if you’re in Dubai on a holiday or even if you live here, a visit to Ski Dubai is a must. Let the sun heat everything up outside; you won’t feel a thing while skiing down the slopes!
