Did you know that there is one place on the earth where you can experience time travel through the trails of food exploration? You will find yourself magically transported to the golden 1950s when Rock N Roll first made its appearance and TV sets were just starting to become popular. The throwback ambiance that surrounds you will be replete with all the era’s surroundings, sights, sound, and of course, food.

The Last Exit Food Truck Park is a unique attraction in Dubai that recreates the nostalgia and settings of the 1950s service stations. It is located on E11 – on the border between Abu Dhabi and Dubai – quite close to the Ghantoot turn-off and can be accessed from Sheikh Zayed Road. A perfect re-creation of the last mid-century service station and food truck ambiance, the Last Exit Food Truck Park is spread over 16,150 square feet. The Last Exit is a permanent home to more than ten retro food trucks and also has some retails shops and a children’s play area. An interesting sight of several old cars piled on top of each other welcomes you as you drive into the Last Exit.

Every food truck has an intercom ordering facility, and after you place the order, you could have the food delivered to your own vehicle. Alternately, you could go over to the sit-down canteen and rest your feet while you sit on barrel stools and eat on rustic wooden tables. The settings of the indoor dining area are reminiscent of a 1950s car repair garage with old tyres, wrought iron artefacts, and vintage car posters forming the décor.

Apart from being practically useful for catching up on some food and rest while travelling by road between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, The Last Exit is also a great food exploration spot. More than 12 popular restaurants of UAE have a presence, ranging from a Coffee Shops to Seafood Restaurant and everything in between. The full list of food trucks at The Last Exit include Starbucks, Burger Pit, Big Smoke Burger, The Brass, Poco Loco, Operation Falafel, Urban Seafood, Baja Fresh, The Hot Dog Stand, and Clinton St. Baking Company along with an all-day Mini Mart. The food choices include Middle Eastern, Italian, Latin American, Pure American, International and other cuisines.

Entry to The Last Exit Food Truck Park is free, while the prices of the food and beverages will differ from truck to truck. As of now, the place is unlicensed and therefore no alcoholic drinks are available. The place is open 24 x 7 and assures you of fresh and hot food any time of the day or night – something useful when you are driving back home after a late night out or rushing to either of the cities for an early morning official appointment.
